The price really depends on the offering topic, facilitator credentials, event format, and individual market demand for that topic. As a general rule of thumb, we suggest charging $20-$40 for offerings. Here are some questions that will help you price things:
What are event prices like in your area? You can search for comparable listings in your city on the web or at Findmyzen.com.
What is the demand for this topic? If there is a large group of passionate people that are interested in this topic in your area, you can most likely charge more. If your event topic only has a small following, it may be more difficult to sell tickets at a higher price.
What is your event format? For small, hands-on offerings that require more personalized attention or expensive materials, students can often justify spending more money on an experience. However, for large lecture-style events we suggest starting with a lower price.
If you are a new facilitator, we suggest charging a little lower than the average rate to attract students who are comparing your event to those with existing reviews. With that in mind, we suggest pricing your first class at about 25% less than your ideal price. Once you've got a review or two, you can start incrementally increasing the price of your listing.
Some facilitators may be selling their tickets through other channels. We just have one big rule. The price that you list your offering through Find My Zen cannot exceed the price of your event sold anywhere else outside of Find My Zen. If we find your event sold somewhere else at a cheaper price, we have the right to remove your listing from Find My Zen.
Note: You can change the price of your event before anyone has signed up. Once the first person has signed up, the price of the event is locked in. With support from Find My Zen, you can edit but we'll need to offer a refund to anyone who paid more than the listed price. If you choose to hold your event again, you can always update the price of the event.
